Large crowd early in the night

Hello everyone! We wanted to blog about the winter dance party mixer for the Pittsburgh Lesbian community. Let’s just say, it was a success! The venue was a pleasure to work with and the owner is a fond supporter of our community, in the prior days hosting some of the Lez Liquor Hour events. He offered many perks, such as free food and some of the lowest drink special prices we’ve encountered! Of course, both of us severely underestimated the turnout. First, we told him to prepare for 150-200 people. A week prior, we told him to prepare for 250 MAX. Little did we know..

We stood at the door and noticed right away, that within an hour of the party getting started, we had packed the bar room (couldn’t see into the dance room). At about 10 or so, we were already breaking records with past parties. Later I found out that people were traveling from Ohio and West Virginia to attend the event, which was flattering to hear! We also encountered some old faces but PLENTY of new faces right here in Pittsburgh. Also, the crowd itself was extremely diverse, something we’re always edging towards however we can. Also, there was a large crowd of older ladies, which again we are flattered and would love to see them at future events.
